We have very recently acquired this unusual Whitefriars paperweight. The person we bought it from had shown it to Brian Slingsby, former technical director at Whitefriars and he commented that it was a trial of a selenium based red ground. It has a Whitefriars cane and a 1977 date cane like the Royal Commemoratives. It is large at 3.2 inches, unfacteted and makes a nice unusual paperweight.
